The recently unveiled design of the world’s headquarters of Novavax, aimed to attract the world’s top scientific minds to growing Maryland’s bio innovation corridor, won AIA Northern Virginia Merit Award in Conceptual | Unbuilt Architecture category.
The design proposes a forward-looking corporate campus for Novavax, which will support innovation, attract top scientific talent, and create opportunities for the merging of science, nature, and social interaction for researchers, scientists, and visitors in an engaging, open, and sustainable environment. KGD Architecture leads the design for the expansion of world headquarters of Novavax, a global biotechnology company which is at the forefront of next-generation vaccine development. Following the approval by Gaithersburg Mayor Jud Ashman and the City Council of the company’s expansion plans the campus design was unveiled by the Maryland Governor Larry Hogan on June 10.
